HOWL with me...

I put together a FREE public program tonight at YBCA! It's a reading of Allen Ginsberg's HOWL by the 3 SF poet laureates Jack Hirschman, devorah major, Janice Mirikitani, and Youth Speak's Khalil Anthony. (Ferlinghetti is the 4th SF poet laureate. He will be present and speak briefly but is not part of the reading)

There will also be a viewing of Ferlinghetti's paintings which were recently removed from a building’s lobby because of their content. Trust me, they are PG.

It's going to be an awesome event and for an important cause - Freedom of Art (and expression). If you can't make it, read HOWL and do some research on the obscenity trials. It will open your eyes to how freakishly conservative we are...much more then a few decades ago. Shit is all backwards....
